Sarah Hyland’s modern love story continues.
The “Modern Family” star, 28, took to Instagram Tuesday to announce her engagement to 35-year-old boyfriend Wells Adams, a radio DJ who competed on “The Bachelorette.”
“That can’t eat, can’t sleep, reach for the stars, over the fence, world series kind of stuff,” Hyland captioned a series of pictures of the couple’s special beach-side moment.
In one picture, Adams, down on one knee, pops the question as Hyland uses one hand to hold her drink and the other to cover her mouth in shock. Other photos show the actress showing off her diamond engagement ring and the couple triumphantly kissing after she said “yes.”

Adams appeared on Season 12 of “The Bachelorette” in 2016. Although he didn’t win JoJo Fletcher’s heart, he did catch the eye of Hyland, who tweeted about her crush.
“Ugh! @WellsAdams making a Lord of the Flies reference on men tell all?” she said in July 2016, adding the hashtags: “Knew he was the best from the start” and “Men who read are hot.”
She continued: “Also @WellsAdams compared Chad to Voldemort. #potterheadsarethebest.”
The online flirting transformed into a full blown relationship in October 2017. Adams credited social media with helping them meet. “The internet — it’s amazing,” he told “The Morning Breath” show that year.
“I impatiently asked @wellsadams ‘when are you gonna ask me to be your girlfriend?!’ I still can’t tell if I just bullied you in to being with me and you’re scared to leave? But please don’t,” she wrote on Instagram on their one-year relationship anniversary in October 2018.

And the rest is history.
Adams shared video footage of the proposal on his Instagram account, set to the tune of Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors’ “I Like to Be With Me When I’m With You.”
“I’ll be Johnny, you be June. But forever,” he captioned the sweet video.
